10 Drama (Full year course)
Course Description

Course Objectives:
- To develop students' personal confidence and the ability to work co-operatively and productively in groups
- To introduce students to a variety of approaches to drama
- To gain knowledge and experience of the theatre and production and performance skills
- To participate in performances in a variety of venues and for a variety of audiences
Course Content:
Students will work on improvisation, role play, movement and voice. They will also explore aspects of theatre history such as Greek Theatre and Shakespeare. Students will devise around dramatic ideas drawn from historical sources relevant to Aotearoa/New Zealand.
Students will work on deepening drama skills such as voice, body, use of space and movement.
They will keep an electronic record of their ideas and processes about drama.
Course Costs and Equipment/ Stationery requirements
Students are encouraged to see the school drama productions e.g. Year 12 and 13 Drama and the AGS/EGGS production. The cost for viewing theatre performances is approximately $30.00.
