11 Drama
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Ms J. Druitt.
In this course students will:
- Learn to use drama techniques such as voice, body, movement and use of space
- Devise and perform a site-based drama at the historic home, Highwic House, using elements and conventions of drama for impact and meaning
- Perform an acting role in a production of a published play to an invited audience
- Explore historical theatre forms and their theoretical and physical performance features
Students keep a digital folder reflecting on their own and others' contributions. This written / oral reflection is part of the assessment in Drama and provides a record of work participated in and viewed.
Students will be offered the opportunity to view a range of performances to influence their understanding of theatre. They will practice writing critical responses required for external examinations at Level 2 and 3.

Assessment Information
Students will perform in a performance to an invited audience one lunchtime. This will be a critically acclaimed scripted play (or extracts from one). Students will go through a process of auditioning or trialing parts, being cast, rehearsing and preparing to perform, in costume, to an audience.Credit Information
You will be assessed in this course through all or a selection of the standards listed below.
Total Credits Available: 5 credits.
