Level 2 Textiles & Design
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Ms V. Lynskey.
Year 12 Textiles and Design is a practical and creative course relating to many aspects of the Textiles and Fashion industry. Students will develop textiles design, pattern making and construction skills through garment design and production. We aim to develop students’ creative and critical thinking skills through prototype design.
Course Overview
Term 1
Students gain an intro into flat pattern-making, They will create skirt pattern of their own design and construct the skirt in a suitable fabric
Term 2
Students begin a design project based on a jacket or hoodie for themselves or another specified person.
They carry out tests and trials to support their design and construct the garment in a suitable fabric
Term 3
Students construct their jacket or hoodie
