11 Textiles & Design

Year 11 Textiles and Design is a practical and creative course relating to many aspects of the Textiles industry. The first unit of work will involve deconstructing, analysing and reconstructing existing garments in groups. In this we aim to develop students’ creative and critical thinking skills.
In Term two and three students will begin ‘All about Me’ They will develop pattern making and construction skills through production of their own designs and will be assessed on one Achievement Standard from the list below. The Achievement Standard chosen will be negotiated with the student.
In Term four students will identify which Textiles gifts they could produce for a chosen charity. This may be a group or individual project.

Total Credits Available: 16 credits.
Internally Assessed Credits: 16 credits.
We aim to enable every student to have the course that they prefer, however, some courses have limited places or pre-requisits that may restrict the student's choice.
