9 Media Studies

Media Studies at Year 9 is offered as an option, running for two terms. In this subject, students develop a basic understanding of a range of media, such as television and film. Students are encouraged to think about and question media issues as well, by keeping a viewing log. The approach to this option is creative, critical and practical, and involves both individual and group assessments.

Students will create short films both individually and as part of a small group using their own devices. Students can then develop further skills in Media at Years 12 and 13.
