Course Description

Mathematics in Year 12 builds on the skills and understanding developed in previous years. This course focuses on the specialist branch of mathematics, calculus, which is introduced and applied to a range of situations. It can be taken in conjunction with 12MST.


Recommended Prior Learning

Year 11 Mathematics; Merit in Algebra 91027 recommended.

Pathway

Mathematics is a foundation for further study in a range of learning areas including engineering, surveying, commerce, science, social science, medicine and information management. Satisfactory completion of this course allows students to proceed to Level 3 Calculus, which is a prerequisite for Engineering at university.
