11 Mathematics with Numeracy

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Ms M. Sinhalage.

Entry to this course is on the recommendation of your Year 10 teacher in consultation with the Director of Mathematics. As well as learning mathematics and statistics, this course will focus on learning content and skills required for NCEA Numeracy.  Students will have the opportunity to sit for the Numeracy Common Assessment Activity and to complete two NCEA Achievement standards.

Pathway

This course provides the opportunity to obtain NCEA Numeracy and skills required for good citizenship in today's society. This course does not progress to any Level 2 Mathematics course but does progress to Level 2 Statistics.

Assessment Information

Alternative standards may be offered to meet the learning needs of the students in the course. Students may gain NCEA Numeracy either through US32406 or through completing both of 91944 and 91945.
