Digital Technologies helps students to acquire the skills, project management and design thinking skills used in fields such as Software Engineering, Website Development, Creative Technologies, Database Development and Computer Science.
Course Content: This course has four main projects:
PROGRAMMING:learn the basics of programming in Python language, learning how to iteratively design anddevelop a program outcome using user feedback to progressively refine the outcome. Term 1
WEBSITE AND ANIMATION DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT: learn the basics of HTML5 and CSS3 to design and build a website, and integrate animations created using Adobe Animate. Students will iteratively develop the outcome using user feedback and user experience methodologies to create a refined outcome. Term 2
HUMAN USER INTERACTION:a theory course that explores the 10 heuristic principles of design and how theyhave applied them to their GUI outcomes during the year. This will then be assessed using a Common Assessment Theme exam at the end of Term 3 or beginning of Term 4.
ELECTRONICS WITH ARDUINO: Students will create an electronics outcome using relevant techniques and resources that consist of a working combination of hardware and software components that perform a specific function. Term 4
