Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Ms T. Farrant

This extension course provides opportunity for students to further their understanding within the Visual Arts. Printmaking and Sculptural processes are explored based on the study of Artists’ methods and ideas. Independent research is a component of this course and is supported by the use of a Visual Diary and ICT.

Students will undertake two major assignments during this two-term course. In their first assignment they will learn about monotype printmaking and woodblock intaglio processes to create a beautiful series of prints utilising Design layout skills and layering, incorporating Native Flora and Fauna. Their second assignment will see students learn about sculpture processes, specifically through the material of clay, to explore and communicate stories about their pets (past and/or present) in a 3-dimensional and playful way.
