Teacher in Charge: Mrs B. Poole.
If your English tests indicate you are having difficulties understanding English you may be placed in the Reception class (9ESR) for more intensive English study.
The programme is a topics-based language course which focusses on Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing skills with an emphasis on grammar and vocabulary.
This course offers 12 language lessons per week and is designed for students from a non-English speaking background. You will build on your English language learning for school subjects, community use and for communication with your classmates. This programme will specifically support students to be able to comprehend the language in their other subjects.
Students will be moved from this programme when they reach a level of English which would allow them to manage in their other classes more independently.
