Course Description

Year 11 French

In Year 11, you learn practical, transactional French, that is, all the language that you need to go on exchange in a French speaking country. Ours is a blended online course that covers language in three themes:

  • Identity and Culture (Me, My Family and Friends; Technology and Everyday Life; Freetime Activities; Healthy Living; Customs and Festivals)
  • Local, National, International and Global Areas of Interest (Home, Town, Neighbourhood and Region; Social Issues; Global Issues; Travel and Tourism)
  • Current and Future Study and Employment (My Studies; Life at School and College; Jobs, Career Choices and Ambitions).

French culture is naturally integrated throughout each context. In addition, at the end of the year, we will take part in an intercultural understanding unit with other language classes. To support your learning, you have access to Kerboodle, Education Perfect and ImmerseMe.
