Course Description

This course will assist students to recognise and develop the necessary learning skills, practical techniques and processes which are essential to early childhood development.
The course covers the following areas of learning:
- Early Childhood Care and Education
- Growth and Development
- Care Needs
- Safety and Emotional Wellbeing
Outside providers may assist in the delivery of the programme.
Some Unit Standards will require a work placement in an Early Childhood Education setting. Placements will be organised by the subject teacher at a local Early Childhood Education facility during Terms 2 and\or 3.
