The full year course provides opportunity for in-depth investigation and exploration using a range of different Art making mediums. These include Mixed-media, Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, Design, Sculpture and Time-based Art. Students will develop ideas and explore visual communication within a variety of contexts.

Course Content
Includes investigation with wet media and dry media, collage and etching / printmaking. Observational drawing and research into personal whakapapa /history/ local environment. Students will explore working with clay to explore visual story-telling in a 3-dimensional way. Students will also complete a mixed media painting using stencilling and painting mediums to investigate a current issue meaningful to the student. In term four students taking this course will explore stop motion animation.
Year 10 Art, full year, offers an exciting range of drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture and digital animation artworks across the year.
This course also provides a foundation for Year 11 practical art and/or photography at Year 11. From Year 11 Art students can continue with Painting, Sculpture, Printmaking, Design to Scholarship level.
Year 9 Core Art.
We aim to enable every student to have the course that they prefer, however, some courses have limited places or pre-requisits that may restrict the student's choice.
