The content of the course will focus on the development of academic English language skills through a topic-based approach. Skills include reading and applying understanding in English for academic purposes, writing for academic purposes, delivery of oral presentations and understanding of spoken texts. Academic vocabulary extension will be part of the course.
This is designed to be a two year course which will allow students to work towards gaining the approved NZQA literacy requirements for entry to New Zealand universities.
