Year 12 Textiles and Design is a practical and creative course relating to many aspects of the Textiles and Fashion industry. Students will develop textiles design, pattern making and construction skills through garment design and production. We aim to develop students’ creative and critical thinking skills through prototype design.
Term 1
Patternbank project:
AS 2.26 assessed within this project. Students adapt a skirt block to produce a paper pattern and construct a toile to test the success of the pattern.
Walk The Line project covers both Terms One & Two. As 2.21 and AS 2.4 are both assessed
Term 2
Next In Fashion and Film:
AS 2.4 and AS 2.23 assessed within this project. Students are to design a small collection of ideas for a character from film or television. From this they produce one garment to be styled with other items/accessories to be worn by them or a model of their choosing in the Next In Fashion and Film 2025 runway show. Week 10/Term 3

Year 13 Textiles and Design. Tertiary courses at AUT, Whitecliffe, NZ Fashion Tech, Massey University, Otago University. Fashion and Textiles industry, Costume Design.
